What do I care about most within any organization? Culture, people, well-being, and the influence leadership has on the employee’s sense of satisfaction and happiness. That is why I am a Chief Heart Officer. I use my therapeutic background, understanding of human behavior, and my own life experiences to improve how people experience their work.
In my practice, I always start with the leadership team because the organizational vibe AKA culture trickles down from the top. Leadership sets the tone and example for what an organization stands for and how they will influence the lives of those who follow. In case you have not made the connection business is ALL about people!
I am not your traditional leadership coach and I do not use a typical method or approach.
I do not use metrics and predicted outcomes for change. I have never believed in the cookie-cutter one size fits none approach to leadership growth and learning. I use stories, strengths, and superpowers. Are you scratching your head yet?
I experience people as being whole, meaning having a mind, body, and spirit. I believe that you must seek to understand each individual and hear their story. Listening and then guiding people toward self-awareness and new perspectives. I believe in helping them to see their unique strengths and ignite their superpowers. That is where the real change happens. Guiding people through the process of re-creating the narrative of their story, realizing their strengths and superpowers ultimately changes how they live, lead and love.
Working as a Chief Heart Officer I am guided by my personal “why”, and my purpose. I aim to help people to become a better version of themselves by remembering who they already are. I believe in guiding people toward change that helps them to realize their own goodness.
If you have never considered a Chief Heat Officer as part of your culture, you may want to reconsider. A CHO will serve as the ‘heartbeat” of your organizational culture. They will help to cut through the noise, work on the real human stuff, instill empathy and love, and ultimately help your organization to thrive.
