I have an observation I’d like to share with you this week. Whether we fully comprehend it or not, all high-achieving thinkers and doers have an innate need to reinvent or evolve. I call it transcendence, as noted in my branding message.

On Wednesday, we’ll welcome the first day of Autumn. I believe a seasonal change is high time to offer leadership guidance for a powerful new beginning.

When I work with a client, I offer customized leadership exercises and tools, depending on the outcome we’re working to achieve. But, no matter the aim, I believe we could all benefit from mindful reflection.

Reflection is the beginning of my transcendent process. Through my mindfulness practices, I ultimately help you redeclare your greater purpose so you remember why you started your professional journey.

Next, I have my clients complete a values exercise that helps them rank, by importance, their key values. Examples of these values include, knowledge, wisdom, love, power, authority, and the list goes on.

The leaders are then able to see or remember what is truly important to them, in order to lead from a more purposeful space. This is quite impactful.

For instance, in my values system, I believe in health first. Above all, I require sleep, exercise and healthy food, to deliver the best to my friends, family and clients.

Maybe you place health first too but have become so overwhelmed with your professional and personal responsibilities to others, that you are often last on the list. This could be where you’d need to re-direct your leadership mission. This is just one example.

As a leadership coach, I’m viewing the autumnal season as a time to reset and re-evaluate my “why.” I’m reviewing my mission statement as a leader and assessing my goals. I’m challenging myself by asking, “Dionne, are you an example of the practices you instill in your clients?”

In closing, let’s band together in support of a transcendent leadership change. Let’s raise the standard in professionalism, by starting with ourselves.

I would love to be a part of your growth process. I hope you found today’s reminder helpful. I want to remind you that I’m offering complimentary consultations through these next few weeks.

I wish you a wonderful start to the fall season. Be well.
