Discover your purpose.
You have heard this old adage before, but have you spent any time really trying to figure it out? I know with certainty that when you connect with your purpose in life everything changes. You no longer feel like you are aimlessly wandering through life wishing and hoping. When your purpose is clear every decision you make in life is with intention and directs you toward something more meaningful.
Humans were not designed to sit behind a desk 9-5 being told what and how to do things. Humans are not meant to come home each night and watch Netflix for hours on end. You are not here on this earth to give up on your hopes and dreams because you have to work?! Put in the effort to find the thing that aligns with your strengths, passions, and the needs of the world. That is what will give your life meaning and fill your heart with joy.
Let go of what you cannot change.
There comes a time in life when you have to realize there are certain things you simply cannot control and that’s ok. Let it go and begin to focus on what you can change and then get to work.
Embrace that you are perfectly imperfect.
Find peace in your imperfections and the imperfections of others. Nothing in life is perfect nor will it ever be. Instead of striving to be flawless, embrace your uniqueness and accept that you are whole and wonderous just as you are.
Maintain your dignity during the tough times in life.
Remember to be patient, resilient and self-aware. Showing emotional maturity and self-control when faced with life’s toughest challenges will allow you to make wise decisions that will redirect you to the right path.
Stop comparing yourself to others.
No two people are on the same soul journey. Each person, including yourself, has a unique timeline and journey laid out for them. Remember to focus on your own progress, rather than comparing yourself to others. It’s a waste of your time and energy.
Always seek to understand.
Remain open and curious about what life puts in front of you. Grow or die is how the natural world works. If you are not in search of ways to self-improve you are dying. Begin to practice mindfulness allowing your mind to remain clear and focused so you do not miss the opportunities that are presented.
Spend time each day exercising to keep your body and mind in shape.
You only get one body and one mind so nurture and care for it. Taking care of your body and mind allows you to persevere whatever challenges or opportunities life sets in your path. Doing something each day for your body and mind will change your life.
When the student is ready the teacher will appear.
I am sure you have heard this quote before. The teacher will only appear when they know you are open and willing to make a big shift in your life. I have observed so many people stuck in resistance to what is possible that they miss the opportunities when they are presented. Embrace these words of wisdom because they may just change your life.
