Every summer I facilitate the leadership retreat for Port X Logistics. Each year I have the team engage in a leadership manifesto exercise that inspires deeper thought into their personal Why. “Why” is your purpose for doing what you do. It is your internal drive and motivation to stay focused and committed to a cause. It’s what gets you out of bed each day.
When you spend time connecting to the deeper meaning behind what you choose to do it brings more joy and happiness into your life. I would encourage you, as a leader, to consider your Why. Reflect upon your deeper desires to contribute to something meaningful or change the world. Once you have clarity every decision you make, the actions you take, and the words you say will be focused on what you believe and value in life. Learn how to write your own leadership manifesto here.
Below is my personal Leadership Manifesto. This is my guide and inspiration for what I do each day.
I believe you must do the thing you think you cannot do. I believe in HUMANS. I support and guide people to be more of who they already are. I believe we need to live through the voice of the soul, not the EGO. I value authenticity and truth.
I love to learn, grow and inspire. I respect and listen to the guidance of my intuition. I want to help people to change the narrative of their personal stories so they can live in their truth. I believe in a balanced mind, body, and spirit. I love to inspire and motivate others toward change. Be positive and optimistic.
Feel and give more LOVE. Be open-minded, curious, and wondering. I know I am part of something bigger than myself. Ask yourself, who are you? What do you really want? What are your fears? Life is about finding your passion and purpose than living it. Ask yourself if you are in alignment with your core values, beliefs, and goals. Strengths. Story. Superpowers. Life is a journey. Let go of self-limiting beliefs and false assumptions. Be brave and go on a journey of self-discovery and face your fears. Be ok with failure knowing it is a lesson to learn. Be open to change and new experiences. Choose HAPPINESS. BE KIND. Be heartfelt.
Most people live through a false narrative of their own story. The soul has a purpose, and the ego keeps people stuck. We can all aspire to greatness with support, guidance, and drive. Growth and learning are lifelong journeys. People can change and live in their truth. Positivity and Optimism. We should all seek to discover our passion and purpose. Then live it. We need to recognize and free ourselves from self-limiting beliefs and false assumptions. We all need to face our fears.
I want to…
Guide others toward becoming their true authentic selves. Support people in their discovery of their strengths and superpowers. I want to guide people toward changing the narrative of their old false story. I want to have a significant impact on the world of leadership. I want to change how people believe they should lead. I want to inspire more heart, love, and kindness into business.
I want to write a book, impact lives in a positive way. I want to help people see a new perspective. I want to leave a legacy that has inspired people to believe in themselves and find their truth.
I know this to be true…
You must do the thing you think you cannot do. People need to connect with their souls and master the art of listening to their intuition. People need to recognize the intentions of the ego.
